Innovative AI Initiatives Showcase Abu Dhabi's Commitment to Digital Transformation and Public Safety

Abu Dhabi Police in collaboration with the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council has launched a state-of-the-art autonomous patrol vehicle during Gitex Global 2024, held from October 14 to 18 at the Dubai World Trade Center. This initiative is part of the police force's strategy to enhance road safety and security across the emirate.

The autonomous patrol vehicle is designed to improve security especially in residential areas and off-road environments. It offers remote operational capabilities through wireless communication linking with surveillance drones. The vehicle is equipped with AI technology and can process voice, data, video and monitor behaviors significantly boosting public safety.

This launch emphasizes Abu Dhabi Police's commitment to integrating AI solutions for enhanced security operations, particularly in areas requiring heightened monitoring and quick responses.

This year marks Abu Dhabi’s 13th participation at Gitex Global showcasing innovative AI-powered initiatives. Key projects introduced include:

GovGPT: An AI knowledge agent to assist government employees with various AI tools.

Cybersecurity Hackathon: A competition for UAE university students focused on cybersecurity skills.

Bayaan: A generative AI decision-making platform for advanced data analytics.

AI Audiobook Platform: An initiative to convert written texts into audio, improving accessibility for individuals with visual impairments or reading difficulties.

These initiatives highlight Abu Dhabi’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and improving the quality of life for its residents.
