Dubai International Airport (DXB) set a historic milestone by welcoming 92.3 million passengers in 2024, surpassing its previous record of 89.1 million in 2018. This achievement marks a decade of DXB leading the Airports Council International’s list as the world's busiest international airport.
December was the busiest month with 8.2 million passengers, highlighting Dubai's growing appeal for travel and business. Over the past decade, DXB has served more than 700 million passengers across 3.3 million flights.
Looking ahead, DXB aims to host 100 million passengers annually by 2027. CEO Paul Griffiths emphasized the $35 billion expansion of Dubai World Central (DWC) to redefine travel experiences and support this growth.
The airport maintains connections to 272 destinations across 107 countries, handling 2.2 million tons of cargo in 2024, a 20.5% increase. Despite record traffic, DXB ensured swift processing, with 98.2% of passengers waiting under 10 minutes at passport control, reflecting the dedication of the team and the trust of millions who choose DXB year after year.
