H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE’s National Olympic Committee (NOC), has announced the creation of the Elite Club, a new initiative to support and develop top athletes in line with International Olympic Committee (IOC) standards.
The club will offer advanced training, technical support and financial resources to help athletes excel in regional and international competitions. This initiative aligns with Sheikh Ahmed's vision for the 2024–2028 Olympic cycle, focused on nurturing talent and promoting Olympic values.

The NOC General Assembly also approved the extension of its Board of Directors' term through 2028 and appointed Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi as Chairman of a new Advisory Council. The assembly further endorsed strategies to boost women's sports, community wellness and scientific training while announcing the construction of a new NOC headquarters in Dubai set to open in 2025.
Sheikh Ahmed also honored the UAE's success at the GCC Youth Games where the country won 296 medals. The Elite Club is set to play a key role in elevating UAE sports to new heights through investment, training and international collaboration.
