DXB Gears Up for 3.6M Travelers During Eid al-Fitr Rush

April 5 to See 309,000 Travelers as UAE Airports Brace for Eid Rush

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is set to handle over 3.6 million passengers between March 26 and April 7, with April 5 expected to be the busiest day, welcoming 309,000 travelers. Daily traffic is forecasted to average 276,000 guests, with a 19% surge in departures during the Eid week compared to the previous month.

The demand is fueled by holiday travel and visits to key destinations such as India, Pakistan, the UK, Sri Lanka, Türkiye, and Italy. To ease passenger flow, DXB has launched DXB Express Maps, a real-time navigation tool accessible via QR codes, and enhanced accessibility services for People of Determination.

Other UAE airports are also preparing for increased traffic. Sharjah Airport expects over 500,000 passengers and 3,344 flights from March 27 to April 6. Emirates projects peak departures from Terminal 3 on March 28, 29, April 5, and 6, with over 80,000 travelers flying out for spring break. Etihad Airways is also bracing for a travel surge at Zayed International Airport.

With multiple peak periods ahead, including Eid al-Fitr, Hajj, and the summer holiday season, UAE airports are ramping up operations to ensure smooth travel experiences.
