The UAE has introduced the Blue Visa, a 10-year residency permit honoring individuals who excel in environmental protection and sustainability. Announced at the World Government Summit 2025, the initiative is a collaboration between the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP).
The first phase will grant visas to 20 distinguished individuals, including:
Environmental activists, researchers, and global award winners
NGO members and corporate leaders in sustainability
Advocates nominated by UAE authorities
Applications are available via the ICP website and mobile app.

Minister Dr. Amna Bint Abdullah Al Dahak highlighted the visa’s role in attracting top talent to drive sustainability efforts. ICP Director-General Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili assured a seamless 24/7 application process.
