Dubai Achieves Another Milestone with Over 10 Million Tourists This Year

Record-breaking Visits in Dubai in the First Half of 2024 Sets the Stage to Break Last Year's Record

Dubai's tourism is thriving, with over 10 million international visitors in the first half of 2024, making another record-breaking achievement for the Emirate, according to the Department of Economy and Tourism.

From January to July, 10.62 million tourists travelled to Dubai which is more than 9.83 million during the same period in 2023. This increase in visitors anticipates that Dubai may surpass last year’s record of 15.37 million visitors.

Dubai is a destination with amazing spots and delicious cuisines which adds to the attraction of visitors.

Western Europe contributed 20% of tourists making fifth of all tourists, followed by South Asia at 17%, and both the GCC and Eastern Europe at 14%. With the rise in tourists, hotel occupancy also rose to 77%.

Opening of new hotels like One & Only One Zabeel, Park Regis by Prince and The Lana, Dorchester Collection ensured more lounging space for visitors with 151,417 rooms available in 825 hotels, compared to 148,711 rooms in 813 hotels in year 2023.

In addition to iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Frame, festivals such as UNTOLD and WATERBOMB have contributed towards increase in tourists in the region.

The second half of 2024 looks promising as more excitement with tourist bus service by RTA, performances by Calvin Harris, and major events like Emirates Dubai 7s are in motion.
