UAE Ranks 2nd Safest Country in the World on Numbeo’s 2025 Index

UAE Named World's Second Safest Country in 2025 with 84.5 Safety Score, GCC Nations Dominate Top Rankings

The UAE has been ranked the second safest country in the world on Numbeo’s 2025 Safety Index, just behind Andorra. The GCC nations dominated the list, with Qatar (3rd) and Oman (5th) securing the top spots. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain also made the top 20, ranking 14th and 16th, respectively.

On Numbeo’s Crime Index, the UAE also ranked second lowest globally, reinforcing its status as one of the world’s safest places. The rankings are based on surveys measuring perceptions of crime, safety, and law enforcement effectiveness.

Why Is the UAE So Safe?

The UAE’s strict laws, advanced surveillance, and efficient policing play a crucial role in maintaining security. Cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi benefit from AI-driven crime detection, high police presence, and severe penalties for criminal activities, ensuring a low crime rate.

The country’s strong economy, high living standards, and government investments in social welfare further reduce incentives for crime. Women, children, and tourists report feeling safer in the UAE than in many other global destinations.
