Dubai's Land Department is encouraging real estate owners in jointly owned properties to join Owners Committees, offering them a greater voice in managing residential communities. The initiative, led by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), aligns with the Jointly Owned Property Law and aims to enhance transparency, sustainability, and quality of life across the emirate.
Owners Committees play a key role in overseeing budgets, prioritizing maintenance, and providing feedback on service plans, according to Mohammed Ali Al Badwawi, Acting CEO of RERA. The registration process has been automated for smoother coordination between committees and management companies.
By joining, property owners can actively participate in decision-making, safeguard investments, and contribute to efficient property management, said Mohammed Al Dah, Director of Jointly Owned Properties Management at RERA. This initiative supports Dubai’s vision of fostering collaboration, transparency, and community engagement in property management.
